Working only with sound brings a freedom unlike any visual medium. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but it takes far less than that to create a vivid picture in the listener’s mind. Sometimes, words aren’t necessary at all, only sounds.
Without the visual image of the person speaking, the artist is free to create virtually any type of character his voice will allow. And inflection, accent, pace and pitch combine to create within the mind of each individual listener a vision unique to their senses. Further enhanced by music and audio effects, no two listeners envision what they’re hearing in quite the same way.
